1st January Dars-e-Faizan-ul-Quran No. 1
(Taouz)
أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
Translation:
I seek refuge of Allah Almighty form the demon cursed Satan.
Summary:
The hidden wisdom in reading Tauz, before starting the recitation of the
Holy Quran, is that a man is seeking refuge of the All-Mighty. He is showing his
humbleness and also praying to save him from the demonology of the Satan,
because a man is not able to compete the Satan without the help of Allah Almighty.
It is also read to beg protection of Allah Almighty. O Allah! I need your
protection so that I may start the recitation of the Holy Quran and be protected from
Satan while recitation. A man cannot understand the Holy Quran without the
protection of Allah Almighty. And also the Holy Quran cannot be acted upon without
the protections of All-mighty. So, it is necessary for recitation, for understanding, for
acting upon and for delivering the teachings of the Holy Quran.
We need the protection of Allah Almighty. And this protection can be made
certain by reading. ― أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ
Tauoz is really a supplication that works as a fort against the Satan. The Holy
Prophet ﷺ said that the Satan affects you bodies in such a way that he runs in your
blood. Satan can see man but a man cannot see the Satan. Therefore, he cannot
save himself from the Satan easily. So, every Muslim, who recites, should read
Tauoz before starting the recitation of the Holy Quran. So that he may be saved
from the demonology of Satan.
It is an essential part of the etiquettes of the recitation that the recitation of the Holy
Quran should be started with ― أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ So that Allah may protect us
from Satan while reciting the Holy Quran. And the Satan may not be able to
interfere while understanding and delivering the teachings of the Holy Quran. Allah
may save us from the attacks of the Satan. Aameen!
